If you want to know anything about African American history in Arkansas this is the place to go. The permanent exhibits are stellar! And Mosaic always has fascinating temporary exhibits on relevant topics as it relates to the African diaspora. If you can, take your whole family, and spend the day here. You definitely won't regret it!

We were given a private tour of this center. In this building you can view permanent exhibits that tell both the present and past history of African Americans in Arkansas from 1870 to the present time. This is the ideal place to bring your children for a history lesson. They will learn about post-Civil War life which led to the birthplace of Black entrepreneurship in Arkansas including the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame, art inspired by Negro League baseball, the fine art of Jazz and the "Inauguration of Hope", a life size memorial to the historic inauguration of President Barak Obama. This center was one of my favorite places to visit in Little Rock.
