The space is not huge, so you can tour the exhibits in one visit. I particularly liked the youth exhibit and the contemporary art exhibit right next to the entrance. The museum has an educational side to it and runs videos on the sad state of race affairs in the US. The staff of the museum is strikingly helpful. The location is slightly off the main museum mall but is easily accessible. "Pay what you wish" entry. Strongly recommend for a visit even if you have visited the DC museum of African American history and culture.

This museum of art it’s rather small but very interesting! Entrance is free but you can leave a donation if you like. The staff is suuuper nice and helpful! This art museum gives you an overview on other people’s reality and their perception of it! The exhibition changes many times during the year, so it’s fun to drop by every once in a while. It’s not boring at all! It’s near the Museum District (station) so you can walk, or drive there if you have a car. There is parking.. The museum offers free wifi. Special thanks to mr Clay (if i remember the name right) who is an artist himself and works there! Super cool paintings!

The museum is free! How could you not visit a free museum?! We seen the exhibit called "Indifference". Although a small gallery, it was very enlightening. We spent over an hour looking and listening to the exhibits. This definitely needs to go on a "things to do while in Houston" list.

Beautiful exhibit of black women paintings. Really captured the essence of our many shades and textures. A must see for all teens both male and female. Very small museum. Would not take more than an hour even if you paused to reflect.

I personally love to go to Museums and I just happened to come upon this place while being lost in Houston. I really enjoyed the art selection from local artist that were featured. The place has cool, funky, eclectic type of field to it. The lady at the front desk was very sweet. It was definitely a beautiful experience, if you are into culture and art. When I went I did not pay and admissions fee, the lady told me I could make a donation if I would like too and I did. If you're in the Houston area stop by and take a look.
