It’s nice to see that Tulsa has put this pork in place for the Native Americans who suffered on the Trail of Tears as well as the suffering of African-Americans here in Tulsa. Before or after you leave the park if you are not already familiar with the stories and history of what the meaning of this monument/park is about please follow up. It’s a very interesting history lesson. The park is laid out beautifully. The garden, flowers, walkway and the seating areas are all very welcoming. This is a place where you can come and sit and reflect.

A visit to this beautiful park with its flowers, greenery, plaques and Sculpture reminds visitors of the destruction of a flourishing Black Business and Residential area that was destroyed due to prejudice. The descriptions of the significant part our African Americans played prior to the Civil War, relocation of Native Americans and vibrancy of the businesses, churches, hotels and residential areas is beautifully displayed on very readable plaques. It is a must stop for Tulsa residents and visitors alike.

This Park pays homage to those who lost their lives in the Tulsa Race Riot. It gives visitors a sense of what occurred in past years that left a negative mark on our lovely city. Let us hope we keep looking at the future positively and remember to treat each other with dignity and the respect deserved by all of our citizens.

I enjoy going to this little park at lunch on a nice day. The meditation walk is great, and in the spring, the flowers are gorgeous. The water feature is a very soothing place to sit and read.
