We found this small museum just a short distance from the main activities in Delray. It was worth it. It's one floor, 3 rooms, but the current exhibit of history of comic books that featured people of color was unique and outstanding. Plus the staff was welcoming and informative. No charge, but we were happy to make a donation. This place represents living history. Go see it!

The tour guide seemed unprepared, driver didn't know where we were going and the guide had to keep asking us what time it was (she should have had her own watch or used her phone). Places we were taken to were not open. It was like driving around with someone who doesn't know where they are going. The bus's air conditioning was horrible and I got car sick. I would recommend that they do some extensive training for both the driver and the tour guide.

This museum documents the important African American history of this part of Delray's past. If a docent is present take that tour. A self-guided tour will also offer many insights however.

I have gone to this museum three or four times and never found it open. Tried mornings and afternoons during the week and NOT open. I am sure it will be worth the trip when we finally get to see its' exhibits. A tourist with limited time should make sure it is open before going there. Signs not helpful..

Full of history, this museum offers exhibits that tell the stories of early Black settlers in Palm Beach County. I've spent many hours sitting and talking with the director whose mother founded the museum. The daughter, Charlene Farrington is a conscientious researcher and curator who understands the importance of documenting the stories Blacks in South Florida.
